Since starting this blog I’ve discovered that Actually people know very little about Qatar, and certainly isn’t on a lot of people’s bucket lists so I thought I would share something I love about Doha – that’s all the great restaurant you can chose from in this town. From High End to Cheap Eats, Doha is full of unusual and interesting restaurants. So here me and some of my fellow Doha foodies provide a mouthwatering list of best restaurants in Doha Qatar from A to Z that are sure to get you salivating!
Best Restaurants in Doha Qatar from A-Z
A is for THE ASTOR GRILL
The Astor Grill is the steakhouse offering at the St Regis. With lovely views out towards the Pearl and Katara coupled with perfectly cooked steak, you can’t go wrong with the Astor Grill for a High End Date Night, even better if you have entertainer app for buy one get one free on mains. For more information check out our post on how to get luxury for less in Doha
B is for the best Yemeni Restaurant in Doha – BANDAR ADEN
one of my favourite places in the souq, Tucked away from the main thoroughfare Bandar Aden serves delicious Yemeni food. Before I came to Doha I thought Arabic food was all about kebabs and hummus but Bandar Aden has taught me differently. Here they serve hot Yemeni bread with a type of salsa along with sizzling stew pots. This is a great place for groups where you can have a booth or sit on Majlis cushions Arabic Style. It is also the cheapest place I have eaten in Doha and is great value.
B also have to be for the best Thai restaurant in Doha – BAAN THAI. My favourite Thai food in Doha. You can eat in or have delivery. The food always arrives hot and served with a smile. I recommend the Masaman Curry and Papaya Salad!
C is for one of my favorite breakfast places in Doha – CHEFS GARDEN.
Not on many people’s usual circuit because of its tucked away location on Education City but it really should be. Ive gone for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner and have never been disappointed. Service can sometimes be slow but the food is always a hit. I recommend the Arabic Breakfast and the lunch time lamb burger – the best in Doha! Out of all the breakfast places in Doha this has to be one of my favorites!
D is for my favorite Italian restaurant in Doha – DI CAPRI
Again, not one of the big names when it comes to Italian Dining in Doha but it really should be. Di Capri offers great authentic Italian food. I recommend the calamari and the outstanding and uniquely presented Tiramisu. Read our full review of di Capri here.
D is also for one of the best restaurants in Souq Waqif – DAMASCA 1.
Probably the first place many expats try in the souq because of its location and beautiful terrace. It’s another entertainer voucher too! I recommend trying their Mezze and people watching from the upstairs terrace in the winter season!
E is for The Pearl and Mall of Qatar restaurant – EGGSPECTATION
A high quality eggs restaurant on the pearl and Mall of Qatar! They have an outstanding range of eggs benedict and omelettes to choose from! A great pick for those looking for a family friendly dining option!
And it’s not just me who thinks so – Polly from Follow Your Sunshine says
Eggspectation is our favourite family-friendly restaurant, Eggspectation has a chilled-out American diner vibe and an extensive menu, including an array of all-day breakfast items. However, it’s the amazing staff that make this place and keep us coming back again and again

F is for Four Seasons afternoon tea Doha
My favourite afternoon tea in Doha. They go out of their way to make you feel special and give the extra touches like making fresh homemade jam for diabetics! You can read more about our experience here!
G is for the most authentic Indian Restaurant in Doha – Gymkhana
My new favourite Indian restaurant in Doha. Decorated in a colonial imperial style with amazing food – both unique and familiar! You can read more about our experience here!
Need more convincing? Don’t just take my word for it. Our friends over at sojourning life recently went and this is what they have to say:
I am not very easily impressed with the Indian food when eating out but at Gymkhana they totally nailed it. Every dish was above average and most were outstanding. Pair it with impeccable service, the ambience and vibe of the place it’s one of the top rated restaurants for all the right reasons.
Their full review can be found here
H is for the high end offers.
HAKKASAN
Hakkasan is our go to for special occasions. It’s become a tradition for our birthdays. We just can’t get enough of their dim sum! It’s the best in Doha!
Fellow Doha foodie Polly has this to about Hakkasan:
“Hakkasan serves traditional Cantonese dishes in a contemporary setting. We love it for its consistency; there’s no such thing as a mediocre plate of food here and we’ve yet to find fault with anything we’ve been served.”
The full review is live on her blog, Follow Your Sunshine
H IS ALSO FOR HUNTERS ROOM AND GRILL
The Westin is a relative newbie on the Doha dining scene but already has left a great impression on us! We hope to try more of their offers in 2017! We love love their steakhouse from the grilled special cocktails to their perfectly cooked steaks this is a must for any red meat lover! Better news it was recently added to the 2017 entertainer app! You can read our full hunters grill here.
H is also for Hwang
We love their Friday a la carte brunch – Yum Cha. Occasionally there is an entertainer voucher for brunch here. We used one and had a great time – read more here!
I is for the best Mexican restaurant in Doha ISLA
Wandermust Daddy grew up in Texas so we often get cravings for Mexican Food. Isla is the perfect tonic to these cravings. I recommend the Fajitas and Churros. It also has a lovely patio for those cooler nights and is a perfect mid range date night.
J is for a great outdoor restaurant in Doha Jones the Grocers
Once only at the gate mall, now you have the joys of jones on the pearl too. Another great spot for breakfast!
K is for K108 YUM YUM
A lovely hotel and restaurant in an older part of Doha. Most business lunches are over in West Bay and starting to crop up on the Pearl. But if you are over in Salata or near the Souq then this is the business lunch for you. With great views over the city and a lemon tart to die for!
L is for a great Doha lunch deal – La Spiga
The w is many people’s fave place for food and you can see why with Spice market, market and la spiga! La spiga is their Italian brand and is a favourite of mine. I recommend trying their business lunch it is great value!
M – is for the hardest contested category!
M is for my favorite Lebanese restaurant in Doha Mamig
My favourite restaurant in Katara! The Armenian Lebanese restaurant with the most awesome terrace! You just must try their cherry meatball stew! Sweet in all the right ways!
Honourable high end mention goes to market at W – la spiga was already in so didn’t want to overload with w spots!
And finally M is for one of the best cheap eats in Doha – MRA
One of the oldest restaurants in Doha having being here since the 1960s. It offers tasty curries for a minimal cost.
N is all about Japanese food
Nobu Restaurant Doha
I’ll admit I’ve not been yet. We had to cancel because baby E was ill. One for 2017 but I think if N was for anything else but Nobu there may have been a riot in the Doha foodie circles! So in place of my review why not check out Polly’s review on Follow Your Sunshine:
Nobu is one of those ‘once in a lifetime’ restaurants that you have to visit at least once while you’re in Doha. It has everything – a great bar, views of the city, interesting architecture and food that you simply won’t be able to stop thinking about once you’ve had your fill.
N is also for Nozumi
Saturday is fast becoming the new Friday in the Doha brunch stakes and this is a firm fave! Their dim sum brunch at 120qar has to be one of the best value brunches in Doha .
O is for Opal by Gordon Ramsay
Another st Regis outlet! Opal is the lower end Ramsay offer but is amazingly tasty. I have been many times but always seem to order the crab, the lamb burger and the lemon tart! Even better there a two for one on mains in the entertainer app!
Opal have also recently started a Wednesday night beef wellington night. Beef wellington is one of my favourite things so we will have to make another visit very soon!

Purely because it reminds me of the UK high street!
Y is for the best Korean Restaurant in Doha Yee Hwa
Looking for a Korean Restaurant in Doha? Then Yes Hwa is the answer! This Korean restaurant in Doha has without doubt the best Korean BBQ in the city!
Z is for Zengo
Newly opened and perhaps the restaurant I am most looking forward to trying in 2017!
But don’t just take my word for it here are what some fellow Doha foodies have to say about it

Zengo is my favourite place to go on a date night. From the well-curated menu showcasing Pan-Asian cuisine at its finest, to the dreamy views of Doha from the 61st floor of Kempinski Residences & Suites, there isn’t a more romantic venue in the city.
