In this ULTIMATE Disneyland Paris Princess guide we tell you how to meet princesses at Disneyland Paris and what to expect from the experiences. The guide covers the Disneyland Paris Princess Pavillon, the Auberge de Cendrillon Princess dining experience and more!
Where to Meet Princesses at Disneyland Overview
No matter whether you are traveling to Disneyland Paris with toddlers or adults, if you want to see princesses at Disneyland Paris you need to prepare your Disneyland Paris itinerary as princesses are some of the most popular experiences at Disneyland Paris.
There are 5 ways to either meet or see Disneyland Paris and these are:
- The Princess Pavillon
- Auberge de Cendrillon Character Dining
- Disney Parades
- Disney Shows
- Secret Princess Spot
We will talk about each of these in detail below.
Disneyland Paris Princess Pavillon
Now I am going to say something that may surprise you but the Disneyland Paris Princess Pavillon is actually my least favorite way to meet Princesses at Disneyland Paris.
Why? you ask! Well that is because of the amount of princesses you can meet and the time it takes here.
So what exactly is the Disneyland Paris Princess Pavillon. The Princess Pavillon is the dedicated place at Disneyland Paris to meet princesses. And is the only guaranteed place where you can meet a princess without paying a supplement for character dining.
The Princess Pavillon is an indoor experience and a great thing to do at Disneyland Paris on a rainy day or even a hot day to get out of the sun, but you will find that the queues swell when it is like this.
Inside the queue is decorated with stained glass images of the princesses along with artefacts that represent them such as Cinderella and her glass slipper and Snow White and the famous poisonous apple.
However other than this the queue is not interactive and it gets very long. In fact the Disneyland Paris Princess Pavillon gets the longest queue out of any ride or attraction at the Disneyland or Walt Disney Studio Park.
In fact the queue is usually a minimum of 60 minutes Long and often is upwards of 2 hours long. And I have seen people start to queue for this experience during Extra Magic Hours even if the Pavillon does not open until the general park opening time.
If you do want to visit the Princess Pavillon then our top Disneyland Paris tip would be to start queuing during Extra Magic Hours to cut down on Queue times but it would be a shame to use the whole hour on queuing for an attraction that is not yet open.
So now you know about the queue, what princess can you meet at the Disneyland Paris Princess Pavillon.
Now the most important thing to remember and let your little ones know to avoid disappointment is that you will only meet one princess in the princess Pavillon at Disneyland Paris. This surprised us as when we have done princess meet and greets in the Magic Kingdom, Disneyland California and Hong Kong Disney we always met 2. However unfortunately this is not the case in Paris.
So what princess will you meet?
The truth is that you will never know what princess you are going to meet until you enter the princesses room.
You can mention to the cast member at the front if there is someone you were hoping not to meet i.e. you have already met them and they may let you wait to go into the different room, but this may mean you have to wait a bit longer and it is by no means a guarantee.
The princesses that have been available at the Princess Pavillon at Disneyland Paris are:
- Cinderella
- Sleeping Beauty
- Rapunzel
- Snow White
- Ariel
- Belle in here yellow dress
- Tiana
- Jasmine.
I would say the most common princesses to meet here are the top 6 but all have been available recently based on our research.
And if you are meeting princesses don’t forget to take your autograph book or autograph book alternative to capture the memory.
Auberge de Cendrillon Disneyland Paris
So now you know my least favorite way to meet Princesses at Disneyland Paris, what is my favorite way to meet them? Well that has to be Auberge de Cendrillon.
So what is Auberge de Cendrillon?
Auberge de Cendrillon is the princess character dining experience and the only other guaranteed way of meeting princesses at Disneyland Paris.
Now this definitely isn’t something you want to consider if you are visiting Disneyland Paris on a budget as there are no cheap eats here. In fact it is one of the most expensive places to eat at Disneyland Paris at 95 Euros for adults and 50 for children 3-11 (prices correct at time of writing). Children under 3 are free but must eat off the adults plates.
Auberge de Cendrillon effectively translates to Cinderella’s Restaurant in English and serves some exquisite French food at Disneyland Paris. It is located just through the castle in the Fantasyland area of Disneyland Paris.
Normally when you visit Auberge de Cendrillon you will see between 3-4 princesses plus Cinderella’s two mice friends Perla and Suzy.
Disneyland Paris Princess Related Rides and Attractions
So now you know the best places to see and meet princesses at Disneyland Paris what are the other Disneyland Paris princess related attractions?
Disneyland Paris Castle
Usually, each castle is dedicated to an individual princess and the Disneyland Paris castle is no different being as this is Sleeping Beauty’s castle. And in my opinion the Disneyland Paris Castle is in fact the most beautiful of any Disney castle around the world.
Officially the Disneyland Paris is called Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant which in English means The Castle of Sleeping Beauty or Sleeping Beauty’s Castle.
The great thing about visiting the Disneyland Paris Castle aka Le Château de la Belle au Bois Dormant or Sleeping Beauty’s Castle is that you can go inside the castle and explore and is actually one of my favorite things to do in the park in the rain or if you are visiting in Winter and want to get in out of the cold.
There are several areas that you can go to inside the castle
- the galleries
- the dungeon / dragons lair and
- the shops
Things that you should look out for in the castle include:
- The Sleeping guards / suits of armour who have fallen under Maleficent spell.
- The Stone Raven – rumoured to be Maleficents pet raven. If you take a picture of him using a flash then his eyes light up red, or so rumour has. I’ll be honest I only had my phone with me last time I walked the galleries and it didn’t work so on my next visit I will take my SLR camera and report back.
- Bronze Philip and Aurora at the end of the walkthrough attraction.
And the shops in the castle are some of the best places to buy souvenirs at Disneyland Paris.
La Taniere Du Dragon aka the Lair of the Dragon
The Disneyland Paris castle is the only castle that has a dragon. I like to think it is Maleficent caught in her dragon form.
The dragon moves, breathes steam and roars so prepare younger guests for this if they scare easily. My little one won’t let us leave the park until we have gone and said hello to the Dragon and is one of her favorite things to do at Disneyland Paris.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (sometimes written as Blanche Neige et les Sept Nains)
This is one of only two rides at Disneyland Paris that features Princesses. On this ride you board a four person mining car and follow the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.
While this ride doesn’t have a height restriction it is perhaps more suited as a ride at Disneyland Paris for 4 year olds.
There are a couple of scary moments on this ride including where the Wicked Queen Transforms into an old hag which some younger toddlers might find scary.
We did this ride with our 3 year old and she was fine but if your child is of a nervous disposition you may want to avoid this ride.
Story Book Land Canal Boat (Le Pays des Contes de Fee)
This gentle boat ride will take you around all of the fairytale landscapes from your favourite Disney films from seeing Belle reading next to her village fountain and Rapunzel in her tower for instance.
This ride has no height restrictions and is suitable for even the smallest children making this one of the best Disneyland Paris rides for babies and even pregnant travelers at Disneyland Paris can go on this ride.
Princess for a day
Princess for a day is the Disneyland Paris version of the Bibbiddi Bobbidi Boutique where children between the ages go 3-12can get a makeover to look like their favorite Disney princess in the Disneyland Paris Hotel.
There are different packages where the most basic just offers hair and makeup with a photograph. While the most premium package gives you the opportunity to purchase a luxury dress to go alongside it.
Please note: as the Disneyland Paris Hotel is currently closed for refurbishments this experience is not currently available. The hotel is scheduled to reopen in 2024 and it is expected that the Princess for a day Experience will also reopen. When we have more information on new prices etc we will update this post here.
Princess Face Painting
Now it isn ‘t Princess for a day but if you want your little one to have something Princessy at Disneyland Paris you should consider the face painting stations at both the Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios Park.
Currently the face painting stations are located at:
- Sir Mickey’s Boutique in Fantasyland
- Studio 1 in Walt Disney Studios
and the current cost is 15 Euros. It isn’t the cheapest thing to do at Disneyland Paris but is nice if you have a princess obsessed little one.
